Partner Program Terms

These terms govern the PlainAnswer Partner Program. By joining as a partner you agree to them. They sit alongside our main Terms of Service. We've kept them plain on purpose, the deal is meant to be generous and easy to understand.

In short: you earn 30% of a referred customer's subscription for as long as they pay us (lifetime for Founding Partners), plus the £149 setup fee when you install it yourself, or half when we do. Commission is paid on real revenue only, never the free plan. Promote honestly and everyone wins.

1. Who can be a partner

The program is open to developers, agencies, freelancers, consultants and creators who want to recommend or install PlainAnswer. You apply, and we approve partners at our discretion, usually within a few days. We may decline or remove anyone who breaks these terms or promotes in a way that harms the brand. Approval gives you a unique referral link and a partner dashboard.

2. The commission

30% recurring commission on the subscription revenue of every customer you refer, for as long as they remain a paying customer.
Founding Partners (the first cohort) keep this 30% for the lifetime of each customer. Partners who join later earn 30% recurring for 24 months per customer.
The £149 done-for-you setup fee follows the work: if you install and set up the customer yourself, you keep the full £149; if you refer and we do the setup, you receive 50% (£74.50).

3. What earns commission, and what doesn't

Commission is earned on real revenue only: paid subscriptions and paid setup. A referral who signs up and stays on the free plan earns nothing while they remain free.

Your attribution is held while the referral is still tracked. If a referred free user upgrades to a paid plan within that window, you begin earning the 30% from that point and keep it for the customer's earning period. Tracking runs on a 90-day cookie (see Attribution below), so the surest credit is when a referral subscribes within that window.

4. Attribution

Referrals are tracked by your unique link and a 90-day cookie. If someone clicks your link and subscribes within that window, they're attributed to you. Once a referred person becomes a paying customer, that attribution stays yours for the customer's earning period (lifetime for Founding Partners, 24 months otherwise). Where more than one partner is involved, the most recent referral link before sign-up takes the attribution.

5. Payment

Commissions are paid monthly, by PayPal or Wise, to the details on your partner account.
A payment becomes payable once the underlying customer payment has cleared and passed its refund window.
The minimum payout is £25. Balances below that roll over to the next month until the threshold is met.
You are responsible for your own taxes on commission you earn. Commissions are stated exclusive of any taxes that may apply to you.

6. Refunds, chargebacks and clawbacks

Because commission is a share of revenue we actually receive, it is reversed if that revenue is reversed. We may claw back or withhold commission where: a referred customer is refunded or charges back; a payment fails; or a referred customer cancels within the first 30 days. Clawbacks are netted against future commission, or invoiced if no future balance exists.

7. Promoting fairly

Partners represent PlainAnswer, so promote honestly and in keeping with our "nothing made up" ethos. You must not:

Self-refer: you can't earn commission on your own account or subscription.
Bid on our brand: no paid search or ads on "PlainAnswer" or close variants, and no bidding on our domain in ad platforms.
Spam: no unsolicited bulk email, misleading messages, or posting your link where it isn't welcome.
Make false or exaggerated claims about what PlainAnswer does, its pricing, or its results, or imply you are PlainAnswer or Culture & Clarity Ltd.
Cookie-stuff, self-click, or otherwise fake referrals, or use fraud or incentivised traffic to manufacture sign-ups.
Use our name, logo or brand beyond the partner assets we provide, without our permission.

Breaking these rules can mean forfeited commission and removal from the program.

8. Relationship

Being a partner does not make you an employee, agent, or legal representative of Culture & Clarity Ltd, and does not authorise you to enter into commitments on our behalf. You are an independent partner referring our service.

9. Changes and ending the program

We may update these terms or the program, and we'll give reasonable notice of material changes. Commission rates already locked in for a partner and their existing referred customers are honoured: in particular, a Founding Partner's lifetime rate on customers they've already brought is not reduced by later changes. Either side may leave the program at any time; commission already earned and payable will still be paid, subject to these terms.
